Club Information

The Central Ohio Shetland Sheepdog Association was formed March 15, 1989 with five individuals.  There was concern felt by these five when they became aware of the disbanding of the original Sheltie breed club. (Scioto SSC).  They strongly felt that there was a definite need for a Sheltie club in the local area to promote the breed plus be an educational and social outlet for all types of members, from long established breeders/exhibitors to owners who are getting their first dog.

Our Constitution and By Laws were drawn up following the guidelines suggested by the American Kennel Club.  Since the first public meeting in 1989, we have continuously held monthly meetings on the third Tuesday of each month (barring Holidays).  The usual time for meetings is 7:30pm.

Current meeting site is the IncrediPAWS 8560 E. Main St Reynoldsburg, OH 43062

Driving Directions: From I-270 N or S, take exit 41B for East Main St/US-40 towards Reynoldsburg. Drive approximately 4 miles, passing a Kroger on your left and a CVS and Chase Bank on your right. Just after the Taylor Road intersection (traffic light 11), take a left turn into the lot for J & M Mowers. The IncrediPAWS facility (8560 E. Main) is located behind J & M Mowers (8600 E. Main). Use the 8600 E. Main address with your GPS.

For more detailed driving directions go to Map Quest and type in from your address to our address:

Please always check before with the Club Secretary as the actual location, date and time.  (Times and places may change due to a special event.)  Guests and dogs are always welcome at meetings as long as dogs are current on their vaccinations and are on a leash.  We encourage our members to bring their dogs to socialize and greet the public (they have as much fun as we do).

Since inception, the Club has strived to have educational programs and fun events along with our business meetings.  Past programs have included:

· Canine Nutrition · Conformation & the AKC Shetland Sheepdog Standard · Obedience demonstrations
· Canine Good Citizen Demonstrations · Grooming – Pet & Show · Video Tapes from the Club Library
· Color Breeding Genetics · Agility Training · Selecting & evaluating puppies
· Breed Related Diseases · Herding Instinct Testing · Annual Canine Health Fair
